Robin A. Cohen, Ph.D., M.S.

Robin A. Cohen is a statistician at the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), Division of Health Interview Statistics. Since 1997, she has been the health insurance topic expert for the National Health Interview Survey. She also advises CIPMH members and participants in the Kellogg Health Scholars Program in the use of national health survey data for their research.
Cohen previously served in the Office of Aging-Related Statistics where she used many of NCHS’ data systems. Cohen received her master’s degree from Cornell University and her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.

Research Interests & Projects

Cohen conducts population analyses of health insurance and access to care. Most recently, she has explored health insurance and access to care for selected populations and the impact of consumer-directed health care on access and use of health care services. She also has explored the use of the national health survey for state-level and small area estimation.
